About Us

Hose Primary is a small Church of England Voluntary Controlled school. It has very close links with the local church and community. It is a primary school catering for boys and girls from 4 to 11 years of age.

The school is maintained by the Education Department of Leicestershire County Council.

Professional Development

We aim to ensure that all our staff can develop professionally whilst at Hose. We hold accreditation as an ‘Investor in People’ which highlights the importance placed on staff development.

Staff have attended a  range of courses throughout the year that are linked to the School Development Plan.

The teachers and teaching assistants have worked on developing and improving their own skills. Staff have attended Maths, Assessment, RE and ICT courses and a variety of Early Years courses in order to further develop their skills. We work closely as a team with the aim to ensure that each child makes the best progress possible.

We have been, and continue to be, involved with a number of outside agencies and work very closely with other Vale schools.

Our partnerships

We have had many visitors from other schools over the past year to look at what we do. Sharing ideas and good practice is an important element of life in Hose. On that note Hose has been involved in providing training  for new entrants to the teaching profession in partnership with Nottingham Trent University. We have worked closely on a variety of projects across the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire and with our partners in  Sri Lanka. We have forged links with the LEBC to provide work experience for young people.

As a Church of England School, we have close links with the Diocese of Leicester resulting in some excellent colaborative experiences for staff and pupils over the years.

Our vision supports the encouragement of each individual in our community, regardless of age, to embrace challenge and work together to succeed in their own learning journey.
